Join the Newstate Nomads on an amazing 10-day voyage to the Antarctic Peninsula, where stunning scenery, extraordinary wildlife, and towering icebergs await around every icy bend.
We’ll sail aboard Ocean Albatros, a purpose-built, ice-class expedition vessel designed for adventure in the most remote corners of the world. With a fleet of sturdy Zodiac landing craft and a team of passionate, knowledgeable expedition guides, we’ll get up close and personal with Earth’s last true wilderness.
Secure your adventure with a 25% deposit, and make interest-free payments at any time prior to 120 days before departure.
Our journey begins in Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world. From there, we’ll cross the mighty Drake Passage, aiming to reach the South Shetland Islands by the afternoon of Day 3—weather permitting, of course.
As we continue south, we’ll explore the dramatic inlets and bays of the Antarctic Peninsula, entering the breathtaking Gerlache Strait. Here, sheer cliffs of glittering ice and snow-covered peaks rise directly from the frigid waters, creating a landscape that feels truly otherworldly.
Our experienced Captain and Expedition Leader will adjust our route to maximize exploration and wildlife encounters—because in Antarctica, flexibility is key to discovery.
We’ll frequently step ashore via Zodiacs to visit penguin rookeries, research stations, and historic sites, and cruise through icy waters teeming with seals, whales (March is a great time for whale watching!), and fantastically sculpted icebergs.
This is more than a journey—it’s the adventure of a lifetime. And we can’t wait to share it with you!

Welcome to Ushuaia—Argentina’s lively gateway to adventure at the edge of the world!
Spend your morning soaking in the charm of the world’s southernmost city or strolling through its dramatic Patagonian landscapes. In the afternoon, we’ll board the Ocean Albatros, our home for the epic journey ahead.
First we'll cruise through the breathtaking Beagle Channel. After a quick safety drill, we set course for the legendary Drake Passage—where true adventure begins. Keep your eyes peeled for seabirds, playful dolphins or even whales as we head out on the adventure of a lifetime.
We sail south into the legendary Drake Passage—where powerful westerly winds and rolling seas mark the true start of our Antarctic adventure. Will we get Drake Lake or Drake Shake? While the crossing is known for its drama, our purpose-built vessel ensures a comfortable, stable ride.
As we journey on, our Expedition Team will get us ready with expert briefings, biosecurity checks, and fascinating talks on Antarctic wildlife, history, and geology. Keep your camera close—albatrosses, petrels, and maybe even whales often join us along the way.
By Day 3, we enter the Antarctic Convergence, where cold southern waters spark an explosion of marine life. If weather allows, we may make our first landing in the stunning South Shetland Islands—our first footsteps on the Last Continent!
Welcome to Antarctica—raw, wild, and breathtakingly beautiful! Our adventure kicks off in the South Shetland Islands, a dramatic chain of volcanic peaks and rocky shores teeming with wildlife. Think bustling penguin colonies, soaring giant petrels, and surreal landscapes like the steaming caldera of Deception Island and the icy cliffs of Livingston and King George Islands.
From here, we journey deeper into the icy wilderness of the Antarctic Peninsula, where every day brings new discoveries. Zodiac cruise past towering glaciers in Paradise Bay, hike beside nesting penguins on Cuverville Island, and feel the thunder of calving ice at Neko Harbour. You might visit historic explorer huts or spot humpbacks on a Zodiac safari in Wilhelmina Bay. And if conditions allow, we’ll sail the stunning Lemaire Channel—a photographer’s dream.
Weather and ice shape our route, and our Expedition Leader will keep us in the loop with daily briefings and stories from the field. Whether we’re out on the water or tucked into the ship enjoying a hot tub soak, a glass of wine, or an expert lecture, every moment in Antarctica is unforgettable.
As we bid farewell to Antarctica, we journey back across the legendary Drake Passage once more—this time as seasoned explorers. Keep an eye on the waves for seabirds escorting us home, and take time to unwind and relive the magic of the past week.
Whether you’re sipping a cocktail in the cozy Nordic Bar, attending insightful talks in the Shackleton Lounge, or swapping stories with new friends, these sea days are the perfect chance to reflect on the adventure of a lifetime.
On our final evening, celebrate with the Captain and crew at the Farewell Cocktail Party. A special photo and video presentation brings our Antarctic journey full circle— cheers to memories that will last forever. Skål!
On the morning of the final day of our voyage, we will arrive back at the pier of Ushuaia, Argentina. Trees, grass and a busy city may seem strange to you after the white wilderness of Antarctica! After a hearty breakfast, it is time to bid a fond farewell to the Crew and Albatros Expedition Team, and descend the gangway back to dry land with memories of the voyage of a lifetime.
